The first step in the process of marriage counseling is the initial consultation with both partners. This is a 50-minute session that is designed to identify the issues and map out a strategy for resolution. It is also used to gather information about the couple and its problems. Afterwards, couples will move on to the subsequent sessions.

Iman Green Syler is the new Executive Director of the Pastoral Counseling Center. She replaces Betty Joanne Scott, who served as Executive Director for 17 years. Iman will focus on raising awareness about the center and establishing the vision for the ministry. She also will work with the Board of Directors to further the work of the Center.
